What kind of events do you book at O'Kelly Chapel?
The Chapel is perfect for smaller industry events, like classes, workshops, lectures, and tasting events. The capacity of the Chapel depends on the type of event. Seated events can accommodate up to 30 people, while mixed seated/standing events can accommodate up to 50 people.
Can I host my birthday party or baby shower at the Chapel?
We do not host birthday parties or baby showers at the Chapel. We focus on other types of gatherings that work well in our space.
Does food need to be catered?
We do not require food to be catered, but we do highly recommend it because it ensures safety, consistency, and a more seamless event for the host and guests. There are limitations on what the Chapel can accommodate for catering. Please reach out to events@fgsdurham.com to inquire.
Can I bring in alcohol to the event?
We do not allow outside alcohol at our venue. Clients and their guests are welcomed to purchase beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks from our bar during their event. All beverages will be served by our staff.
Can I decorate the Chapel?
O’Kelly Chapel is a beautiful turn-key venue which has been fully furnished and decorated. There are many large houseplants and fixtures which add beautifully to the decor. You are welcome to bring linens and tabletop decor for your event. However, some items are prohibited such as candles and anything that would be affixed to the walls.
